i'm Trevor Stenson, Creator and director of T.A.W.D
It all began almost 20 years ago, trialling trades straight out of school. I was after something to do that involved working with my hands. After doing bricklaying to internal plastering I found that using a trowel was something that I liked. So I looked further to find a trade called solid plastering, or otherwise known as Rendering. This was a trade where I could get more satisfaction. There was something great about making a wall finish and then seeing the completed results for your efforts at the end of the day. So with that I entered into an apprenticeship, which taught traditional and modern plastering techniques. After trade school and working with the same employer for some years, I then worked as a qualified plasterer for other companies. Doing so, this taught many different methods to my work. As this is a trade that can be done in so many different styles, techniques and finishes. Then after a while I realised I was ready to bring all this learnt skill and knowledge together, to get out and start my own rendering business. I enjoyed working on new and existing homes, making transformations for my clients. With my continued curiosity I discovered Venetion Plaster with an Italian company, which was only new to Australia at the time. My eyes then opened up to a whole new world of the decorative plaster scene, endless creativity with use of natural lime materials. This was of course the start of my next venture to...
